Our Masters Squad
Seaclose Swimming Club has a small Masters Section which encompasses a wide range of abilities from casual fitness swimming for those who want a workout, to competitive swimming and specific discipline training for triathletes. We also offer the opportunity to enter and swim in ASA Masters competitions for those who wish to do so.
Seaclose SC’s masters section is just approaching the end of its inaugural year and we are very encouraged by its rapid growth, both for recreational swimming and competing.
On request from some of our masters swimmers, we have now set a new membership level in the Masters section for those wanting more sessions in order to compete:
The fees are the same as the senior swimmers – £25 per month currently (ASA yearly membership fee still to be paid if relevant) and the extra sessions can be picked up at the following times:
- Friday 20.00 – 21.00 Medina Pool
- Saturday 06.30 – 08.30 Medina Pool
This extended membership can only be joined AFTER discussion with the coaches (firstname.lastname@example.org), as each session has to be risk assessed in accordance with ASA masters guidance and Wavepower, the ASA’s Child Safeguarding Policy and your relevant paperwork sent to the club secretary (email@example.com), in advance.
We can still offer the original three morning sessions a week at Medina Leisure Centre, at the lower cost of £12.00 per month (plus the ASA affiliation fee as detailed below). The sessions are either taken by a qualified coach or a set programme is provided and a qualified coach will be on poolside for advice. There is one dedicated lane set aside for masters swimmers at the times detailed below.
Masters squad members can choose to swim as many or as few sessions as they wish. Sessions are listed below with fee structure.
